Broad Ripple Park

Due to popular demand, the Fifth Annual Taste of Broad Ripple was another exciting afternoon in Broad Ripple Village! On June 16th, 2018 it was a bright sunny day with 8000 people attending!    Thanks to all of you who participated either as a vendor, sponsor, or attendee!  The Taste was created to celebrate everything that Broad Ripple is: an eclectic mix of restaurants, independently owned shops, bars, brewpubs, and live music. With lots of fun activities for the kids, live music for the millennials, and food and adult drinks for the connoisseurs, Taste of Broad Ripple has something for everyone.

We are sorry to say that The Taste for 2019 has been canceled due to circumstances beyond our control.  Please stay tuned for updates and follow us on Facebook or Instagram for our next Taste in June of 2020.  Thank you!

Tickets are not yet available for the next Taste of Broad Ripple in the year 2020.

Our next Taste will be a beautiful Broad Ripple Park on the scenic White River.

Free shuttle buses will run throughout festival hours to and from the Glendale Mall. There is no cost to park or ride the shuttle. Shuttles will run approximately every 20 minutes to and from Glendale Mall, from 2:30pm to 10:30pm. Click HERE to view a Google Map of the location.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is there a dress code?

Nope! Dress for Indiana summer time fun.

  • Will I need cash or credit card?

You will need both. Admission fee is $7 cash or credit card. Some vendors will have cash and credit card accessibility. Beer Garden will be cash only. There will be several ATMs on site for your convenience.

  • Will weather affect this event?

Nope. Taste is a rain or shine event. Let the sun shine! How about 70 degrees, light breeze, and sunny? :)

  • Are there age restrictions on entrance?

Nope. All ages are welcome, kids 11 and under get in free! If you choose to drink alcoholic beverages you will need to go to the I.D. tent and get a wristband at the ID Tents. Without the wristband on, you won’t be served or allowed to consume alcoholic beverages.

  • What is the pricing of food items and drinks?

Food vendor pricing will vary, but we have asked food items to be priced between $2 and $4. Beer and mixed drinks will vary from $5 to $7. Bottled water will be available for $2.

  • Will there be reentry allowed?

Upon admission to the Taste you will be given a wristband. This allows you entry into the Taste, and allows you to come and go. Don't lose your wrist band because it will not be re-issued without paying again.

  • Is alcoholic beverage consumption confined to a beer garden or limited space?

No. Once you have a wrist band, showing you are 21+, you are allowed to walk around the taste consuming your beverage. Note that wristbands are not transferable. If you do this you will be subject to removal from Taste. There are other bars and restaurants in the Taste area, and you are not allowed to enter or exit those businesses with alcoholic beverages.

  • Will there be security at Taste?

Yes! We will have the Indy Metro Police Department and ESG security in numbers making sure everyone is safe.

  • What are we allowed to bring into Taste with us?

No alcoholic beverages of any type, nor coolers of any type. (Certain exceptions will be made for kids in strollers.)
NO firearms or weapons of any type.
All bags or backpacks will be searched prior to admission.
    Small folding camp/lawn chairs.
No illegal substances of any kind.

  • What time and what streets will be blocked off for The Taste?

Streets will be blocked off Saturday morning, June 16, 2018, at 5: am. They will open again Sunday June 17, 2018 at 1: am. New map coming soon, with a larger footprint of space to Taste in 2018.

  • What if I want to visit a business in the Taste area? Do I still pay $7?

Great question! We have created the Taste to bring people into the Village to see its coolness and what it's all about. It takes a lot of time, effort, and money to create this event and we feel that the $7 you pay to enter will be rewarded by a very entertaining time on the open streets of Broad Ripple. Hey, this is way cheaper than going to a movie and it lasts 7 hours! We do appreciate your support and understanding.

  • What type of foods will be available?

Our goal with Taste is to provide a wide variety of foods for you, the visitor. We have encouraged the vendors to have bite-size samples at a low cost, and include foods for all types, including meat eaters, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.

  • The Taste footprint covers an area with lots of restaurants, brew houses, and bars. Can I take my alcoholic beverage that I buy at the Taste into them? Or if I buy a drink in one of those establishments, can I bring it back into The Taste?

For purposes of simplicity, no. You cannot take a drink you bought at The Taste into a bar or restaurant. Nor can you bring a drink that you purchased in a bar or restaurant back into The Taste. The property line is defined as that business's door step or entrance.

  • Are dogs and cats allowed?

Only if they are on a leash and well behaved. Please clean up their poop.

  • Is Taste handicapped accessible?

Yes. The Taste will be on the smooth sidewalks and streets of Broad Ripple village. We will also have handicapped accessible portolettes. Handicapped parking is available in the parking garage across from The Vogue and in Broad Ripple High School parking lot.

  • Will there be paramedics on site?

Yes. We are concerned about your safety. For outdoor events be sure to stay hydrated with lots of water. If something happens that requires medical attention, we will have paramedics and and two ambulances standing by.

  • What type of parking will be available?

We will have free parking at Glendale Mall. Free shuttle service will take you here and back every 20 minutes. There is also a pay to park lot at the corner of Broad Ripple Ave and N College. Shuttle buses will drop you off at Broad Ripple High School, which is only one block east of The Taste. You'll catch the shuttle back at BRHS to return to your parked car at Glendale Mall.

  • What type of music will be at Taste?

On the main stage, there will be some of the best blue grass, rock and funk bands bands around!

  • Should I plan on having fun?

Yes! That is our goal with the Taste of Broad Ripple! The Village has been known by many as a place to have a great time!
